Professional Experience

I have been self-employed since August 1988, based first in the city of Querétaro and, since July 1990, in the Federal District. The vast majority of my work is written translation into English from Spanish, supplemented by occasional contracts for simultaneous interpreting, style correction, proof-reading, etc.

Since moving to Mexico City, I have mostly worked for Mexican government departments (including the President's Office and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Fisheries, and Communications and Transport), other official agencies (such as the National Fine Arts Institute, the National Human Rights Commission, and the Mexican Petroleum Institute), and several international organizations (UNICEF, UNPF, OAS, etc.). In addition, I have provided translation and other services to a long list of corporate clients and specialized T&I agencies. The materials I translate come from many different fields: technical, legal, commercial, governmental, academic, journalistic, literary, etc.
